Describe some current values/belief systems that are relevant to your work at Full Circle Farm.
I believe in a sense of community, a respect for nature, and manifesting positive change. I feel that full circle embodies all of these values. I love being a part of the change I wish to see and aiding to fuel the organic revolution.
What is the most meaningful part about working at Full Circle Farm?
Teaching customers about produce, the nutrient content in various vegetables, and demonstrating how your dollar is your most powerful vote in progressive change. It has been inspirational to see how many people want to be involved in the future of food. It is wonderful to see all the smiling faces and those that bring their own bags and try to make a difference in as many small ways as possible.
When you're not working, how do you like to spend your time?
Hiking with my dog, studying Nutrition at Bastyr University of Natural Medicine, going to see live music, painting, working towards progressive change (pro-peace, antiwar, and environmental causes), and preparing food.
What type of food do you enjoy preparing?
I prepare raw dishes both all vegan and all organic. I love anything fresh, vibrant, and exploding with flavour.
What is the best book you've ever read?
In Defense of Food: An Eaters Manifesto, By Michael Pollen
Jeff, Farmers Market Representative
Why did you choose to work at Full Circle Farm?
I wanted to be close to nature and serve people by educating them about food. The more people know about food, the better they can protect their health. I wanted to continue to have wonderful experiences with food and share that with others. I chose Full Circle Farm because they are driven to produce high quality organic produce and I remembered enjoying their Dandelion Greens, which I purchased at the Broadway Farmers Market.
What are your duties as a Farmers Market Representative for Full Circle Farm?
I bring freshly harvested produce to markets for people to purchase. I try to deliver information about the produce in a way that entices the customer to try new things. I also strive to create a feeling of reliability, consistency, and community so that customers can count on me, the farm and the market.
What's your favorite vegetable?
It changes, but right now it's beets. I roast or boil them until tender, chill in the refrigerator, and then serve on salad greens with goat cheese and caramelized onion. In order to use the whole thing, I incorporate the beet greens into my quesadillas.
What do you do when you're not working the markets?
Rock climb, study theater at Cornish College, hike, camp, drink wine and be merry!
